Speechify is absolutely brilliant. Growing up with dyslexia this would have made a big difference. I’m so glad to have it today.

It's a useful tool but you all lied. It costantly said after I downloaded it that if I uploaded 10 images then the ads will stop. Well, ten approved (and some even downloaded by others!) photos and I'm still seeing ads. That wouldn't be so bad if the ads didn't happen 3 seconds after the last ad, in the middle of scrolling, when I'm looking at the image for more than 10 seconds, etc. Also it works on my android tablet, but not my android phone. It keeps crashing as soon as I open it.

Used to work fine but these last few months I can't get it to load any pictures. End up going in chrome to look at images from the website everytime. Edit (some weeks later): new phone, images load up but not able to use any filters except image orientation. Changing filters causes the app to bring up 0 results (of a previous search which yielded over 9,000 and no I'm not memeing here). Liking or saving an image causes the app to crash completely. Seems using chrome is still the best option.

Crashes within 20 seconds of opening, every time I try to use it. I have always loved this app and use it on my android phone to create social media content for the non-profit I work for. I have tried force stop and uninstalled multiple times but it still crashes. So frustrating and disappointing!

Ulysses app reviews

I have used Ulysses for approximately five years and bought several versions of the app before the change to the subscription model. While there is no debate about Ulysses quality, my doubt has increased in relation to the subscription cost to new feature ratio. For example compare an office 365 annual account. While I like Ulysses, the subscription model increases the onus on providing value. I remain unconvinced. For example, in the latest version 13 the creators flaunt things like highlighting keywords and a target to set writing goals. Sure this is useful, but is it valuable in comparison to say, pinch to zoom. Something that seems pretty low on the evolutionary scale for iOS and macOS but remains absent in the Ulysses feature set across all IOS and MacOS.

I use Ulysses for organising my thoughts, my website (blog posts), my first book (now with the publishers), and am also using it for writing an online course and for my second book. Love how I can switch between phone, ipad and mac. Love using markdown, setting goals and colour coded keywords. Just wish it had support for tables, as I have to switch to Google Sheets for those. It’s a clean, simple, beautiful, adaptable and reliable - thanks team Ulysses!

One of my favourites! Writing is a difficult thing to do, and so removing as much friction as possible can really help. You don’t need to complicate things. This is why I love Ulysses - it’s simple enough that it allows me to focus on the important bit: the words. And yet it’s powerful enough to adapt and become a real workhorse when I need to do more than just write. Seriously, just use it for a while and you’ll see. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Pros & cons

Pixabay

Pros
You can find all kinds of royalty-free elements in this site and use it on your personal, as well as commercial projects
If you have specific size requirements, you can choose from several options and download the one you prefer.

Cons
No longer useful
Like so many others have indicated, this app used to be amazing then suddenly it stopped working
I'm willing to bet changes where made to the website code that broke the mobile app and the developers are unable to update the app for some reason
I have discovered that my favorites still load if you mark them in the web version, even new favorites (i.g
not just cached)
I really hope this gets fixed, usually bugs like this are easy to fix.-A Google userNovember 24, 2019
