“Speechify is absolutely brilliant. Growing up with dyslexia this would have made a big difference. I’m so glad to have it today.“

This app didn't work well for me on my Chromebook. It only allows me to upload one file at a time, I can't move files across folders, I can't rename folders or files etc ... Basically, all I can do is upload one file at a time, nothing else. I have friends who have the official equivalent app on Windows and such functionality (at least multiple upload) works with them - but maybe the Companion version here doesn't offer that. Very frustrating.Tom S
The reMarkable Companion app, which is designed to work in conjunction with the reMarkable paper tablet, is the ideal tool for synchronizing your content across multiple devices. You will have quick access to all of your documents, making viewing, organizing, and sharing them much simpler. Before you sign in at my.remarkable.com, you need to make sure that your reMarkable paper tablet is properly connected to an account. You'll need to log in to the mobile app and tablet app using the same email address or through a third party service.
This appears to be the exact same app (other than offering Dark mode) as NoteAway...right down to the free version vs the $5 Pro version. Both apps are offered in the App store under two different companies. I've used NoteAway for years and love it...highlighting text and using PopClip to quickly send it to NoteAway is a feature I use daily. (and yes, MiniNote does have a PopClip extension that works exactly the same way.) It's not a place to permanently store important notes/docs, but for quick and temporary filing of random bits you come across it can't be beat for speed and simplicity. Not sure what's going on with the 2 different apps, but I'd definitely recommend trying one of them.daveyarddave
MiniNote is, without a doubt, the most effective app for taking notes that you will ever use. It has been designed from the ground up to provide the simplest, quickest, and most enjoyable experience of taking notes that is humanly possible. If you give it a shot for a week, you'll be hooked on it for the rest of your life. The application is permanently installed in the menubar of your Mac and can be accessed at any time with the click of a button. Make use of it to jot down your ideas and other pieces of information that are significant to you, and do so with the confidence that your notes will be simple to retrieve whenever they are required.
I love my device, the cuff around the pen tip broke the first time I dropped it though, which really affected how it works, but I still use it. Could use a little extra durability there. Other than that, this device has been great. A few suggestions are that this app is multifunctional so that you can edit your documents from it with a stylus on your phone, and also that you can add templates to extra pages in pdfs. Other than that, I hope to use a color version in the future.

This is exactly the minimalist app I would expect. If you read into what the creators of reMarkable tablets were aiming for you will note that this fits that goal quite well. They wanted primarily a note taking platform and this app is assumed at an easy way to access those notes. Yes there are many features that would be nice to have, but I am quite happy with what this is. They focused hard on making a wonderful tool for reading notes taken on the tablet with a dash of other features.

High potential, but not there yet This app has potential, but still misses the mark. A few things that would turn this app fr good to great for me include: - being able to upload pdfs from within the app. I can open up a pdf in other apps and then share to the Remarkable app, where the pdf ends up just being uploaded to the root directory, where I have then move files later. It would be helpful if you could navigate to any folder and then click “Upload” and search for a pdf on your phones file manager to upload to that specific directory - using less storage space. I’m not sure but I feel like when you download the app it syncs all the files onto your phone. It would be great if it only synced “thumbnails” and gave us the option fully sync files, either all or selectively as needed - faster syncing. It’s terribly slow but I’ve had several instances where it took a few minutes to sync files either way (phone to remarkable or vice versa) - allowing screen sharing. It would be awesome if the screen sharing feature for desktop was added to mobile I’d probably use the app much more with these added functionality, instead of how I use it now, which is primarily just to see what I’ve written on my Remarkable when it’s not with me.
Why do developers upgrade their applications to higher OS's as well as make them only available through the MAS, thereby making it impossible for users with older OS's to use the older versions? Developer: You have a nice app and you still have the versions that work on older OS's why not make these versions available via your website or some cloud filesharing site? The latter wouldn't cost you a penny. In addition, these people would then likely get your newest version of the app when they upgrade to a newer OS. Just provide a caveat of no support for the older version anymore.
I like it for what it is and for its cost. It's an easy to use and easy access notepad for taking quick notes while doing other things. I use a more comprehensive app, Growly Notes, for extended, organized note taking, but just for jotting things down on the fly, this works great. I only give it a "3" for features because it doesn't have a lot, but I don't expect a lot either for this type of note-taking app. Don't understand the complaints about cut & paste not working; both work for me. I am commenting on ver. 1.5
Not bad, but not that user friendly as is. requires that you keep going back to the note list manually after closing and opening again from the menubar, otherwise stays on the same page you left it, including the settings tab. Changing the font on one word changes the font on the entire database. Also a bit sluggish when changing page/tabs. Starting a new search requires highlighting and deleting of the previous word, there is no X button. Just some minor things.
Simple, no-nonsense interface
Easy to mark up documents
Extremely limited format support
Complex PDFs render slowly
Monthly subscription required for cloud syncing
Star notes to pin them to the top of the list
Time stamps for each note you create
Share notes via Email, Facebook and Twitter
