Fred Mouawad developed the cloud-based collaboration tool called Taskworld. The SaaS (software as a service) is made to make it easier to manage projects and tasks, collaborate, delegate, communicate, maintain knowledge, track progress, and give performance metrics for fact-based team evaluations. Tasks can be given and received, followers can be added, comments can be made, data can be shared and stored indefinitely, and projects can be organized.

Most popular feedback for Slab

Slab will be a useful tool for us to share information internally. Updates are coming, but the updates page (https://updates.slab.com/) doesn't seem to be updated in sync with releases and updates don't seem too frequent. I look forward to monitoring the direction the Slab team takes their software.

Slab reviews

Personally, I like Slabs UI. It is not too corporate-y and feels very tailored for a small-medium size business. The documents you publish can be read very easily and in fact, I believe people read them more thoroughly since it's easy on the easy (font, spacing, etc).

Pros & cons

Taskworld

Pros
Taskworld is really good for managing projects with many moving parts
The column-task setup lets you organize things visually very well, and the drag-and-drop functionality is great
Chat is set up well and offers all the functions you might want
Direct messaging, team messages, locked/private channels, custom channels, etc
Each task can live in multiple locations and be assigned to multiple people all at the same time
Great for teams with many moving parts.
Cons
Taskworld crashed ALL THE TIME
It was so frustrating
You'd notice certain functions not working (like adding an additional location or reassigning a task) and then the whole thing would go down
We lost at least 3 individual business days due to Taskworld acting up
We often requested features and bug fixes that took forever to be resolved
Taskworld staff was responsive, but issues took too long to resolve
As a small example, the GIF functionality of chat and task communication was down for weeks with no explanation
Small glitches were frequent and obnoxious
We had to clear caches all the time in hopes that we'd be able to use Taskworld the way it was intended
There were many times employees didn't get notified of their "@ mentions" or weren't seeing notifications at all
It was a nightmare of death by a thousand cuts.

Slab

Pros
Congratulatory thanks messages on your posts are a nice touch that helps you feel as though your docs are actually being used when someone thanks you for them
Very easy to teach to peers and get them contributing in no time
The ability to search Slab, Slack, and Google Drive all at once is a lifesaver
It is fast and constantly is being improved with total dedication
I am absolutely in love with Slab a hassle free way to share documentation."
Cons
When cross-referencing other posts (by typing + to bring up the contextual menu and then starting to type), there's no easy way to link to a heading
There's no feature to check for dead links
It's sometimes unclear at first what to do with projects and posts, since they nest inside each other
It can be a little bit difficult to visually navigate between the different topics
Lack of permissions, which has recently been fixed with secret notes and guest access."
