“Speechify is absolutely brilliant. Growing up with dyslexia this would have made a big difference. I’m so glad to have it today.“
Sir Richard Branson
For teachers, this is a terrific resource for breaking up the monotony that can creep into the classroom. Seemingly mundane science lessons can be made fun by posing questions such as “Why doesn’t glue stick to the inside of the bottle?” to the class. The entire site has a light and whimsical feel, but balances that with high-quality information. Any one of the daily questions can be used as a makeshift lesson.
Jason TomaszewskiWonderopolis is an informational site that helps kids ask and answer interesting questions about the world. Every day, a new "Wonder of the Day" question is posted -- each designed to get kids to think, talk, and find learning moments together in everyday life.
Excellent for teaching, even economics What do you like best about GeoGebra? The range of possibilities and customizability of this mathematics lab is excellent. The interface is point-and-click but also provides a command line with function-oriented programming interface. There is also support for latex input to display mathematical expressions according to conventions. Export to graphical and markdown formats serves me great when creating illustrations for articles and study materials. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GeoGebra? The direction Geogebra has been taking recently. Focus on the web app is great for primary and secondary school mathematics and geometry but cannot provide the robustness required for applications in some fields at a university level. Their still provide support and backward compatibility for version 5, though. And that makes me stick to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering GeoGebra: In mathematics-related undergraduate courses, try to lobby for inclusion of GeoGebra in the earliest stages so that students gain appreciation for it before interacting with it in practice. While the authors do their best to keep the interface as simple and mathematics-oriented as possible, there is need for understanding of how computer functions work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is GeoGebra solving and how is that benefiting you? To gain full understanding of some very complex economic models, I built them using GeoGebra, leaving most variables adjustable. Thanks to the web-based ecosystem around this tool, my students are able to inspect dependency of given model's outcome on each of its exogenous variables. While it would be great to have them create representations of their own, it does take time to learn, though, and those unfamiliar with GeoGebra from high school cannot be expected to do it over the course of a fast-paced one-semester module.
Matej A.GeoGebra is a dynamic mathematics software for all levels of education that brings together geometry, algebra, spreadsheets, graphing, statistics and calculus in one engine. In addition, GeoGebra offers an online platform with over 1 million free classroom resources created by our multilingual community. These resources can be easily shared through our collaboration platform GeoGebra Classroom where student progress can be monitored in real time. GeoGebra is a community of millions of users located in just about every country. It has become the leading provider of dynamic mathematics software, supporting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and innovations in teaching and learning worldwide. GeoGebra’s math engine powers hundreds of educational websites worldwide in different ways from simple demonstrations to full online assessment systems.
Wonderopolis could be a useful tool for any inquiry-based elementary classroom. With a new question posed and answered every day, you'll have an engaging and relevant resource to spark students' curiosity. Just plan on scaffolding for your not-yet-proficient readers or for your kindergarten and first- and second-grade students, as the content is not differentiated. The Common Core search option mostly helps narrow the search of the 1000+ questions; the site might help teachers better by offering clearer connections to the standards and explanations. Each question and its response is accompanied by a variety of resources: video teasers, an audio option, comprehension checks (literal-level), vocabulary terms with linked definitions, and a word-match exercise. Also of note, there are some open-ended extension activities that are more experiential in nature, and bound to engage students.

I love using this site because of the accessibility features. It allows all types of learners to understand the text. The images are rich and the content is engaging. Since it identifies the vocabulary it helps the students better understand the content. If you want a great science article this is it. Along with the article there is a section called try it out. This section explains to the students how they could work with family or friends to dive into the topic more.

This is a great tool for research on many topics. It incorporates visuals, interactive quizzes, vocabulary, and much more. It could be used to study science or social studies type topics with literacy intertwined for presentations, writing, and reading. The video could have the option to be read aloud, but other than that, it is a great addition to the classroom.

"Wonderful tool for presenting dynamic relationships" What do you like best about GeoGebra? The ability to share and view/edit the work of others. This is HUGE. It's a great tool to show dynamic relationships to students - I typically use it as a demo tool during explanation of a concept. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GeoGebra? The organization of all the teacher created boards is not that good. There are a lot of repeats and some poor quality items. I wish Geogebra could curate or at least have "favorites" list for given topics. It's difficult for new teachers to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is GeoGebra solving and how is that benefiting you? Helping student prove or visualize geometric relationships. Benefits include the feedback from students who say, "Oh, now I see" since visualization of concepts is huge when looking at various theorems and proofs. It also introduces the idea of proof... we could look at ALL possibilities by dragging vertices in all possible places (which is technically impossible) or do a mathematical proof to show the theorem works for every case.

"GeoGebra is a powerful tool." What do you like best about GeoGebra? GeoGebra is a great maths tool for all levels of education. It is available in many languages for millions of users around the world. Any user can make whatever they need for their students and they don't have to start from scratch. It is an open-source software that lets users to build or adapt their learning experiences to meet their kids' needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GeoGebra? It is not very easy to use and It takes time for users to learn how to use the geogebra tools. The user-generated content may varies in quality. You need to spend some time to make sure to familiarize yourself with the extensive tutorials in order to use the geogebra effectively. It would be definitely very helpful to my students if they had a better overall understanding of the basics of geogebra software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering GeoGebra: You may need to give your students a little more time to work with Geogebra before their projects. The learning curve is not going to be that steep. So it requires a bit training before working with geogebra tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is GeoGebra solving and how is that benefiting you? A large number of tools is going to allow students to explore many areas of math and they will have a chance to see how they connect. It is also free. Students can create their own understanding by building and they can modify mathematics constructions. Also, pre-set functions will allow students to investigate a wide range of concepts for maths.

"GeoGebra Makes Desmos Obsolete" What do you like best about GeoGebra? I teach Calculus and Vectors. I find that Geogebra allows my students to create and discover as they are learning in addition to come up with conclusions from each task they attempt. The ability to construct what you would like to see in front of you is so powerful and motivating to dig deeper to achieve the best understanding possible. Vectors course is very challenging due to having to visualize in 3D line and planes. GeoGebra makes it so easy and it is very intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GeoGebra? Absolutely nothing. I find it very user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering GeoGebra: It might take you a couple of YouTube videos to acquaint yourself with some skills but the resources on Geogebra and the versatility of the software are worth every second you train to learn how to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is GeoGebra solving and how is that benefiting you? Vectors, Rates of Change, construction of perpendicular bisectors, altitudes, medians and measuring areas and angles to say the least. I also solve optimization problems using it. Very powerful tool.
