I also use xTiles as a personal note-taking app and it really lacks a decent mobile version for this. Except for this, I haven't faced any other drawbacks.

I can easily store articles, notes, books, and syllabi in folders as I prepare for my dissertation and exams. Powerful but easy to organize. I do wish there was a bit more of a detailed interface for note taking. But overall, Devonthink is a powerful software that does everything I need. It is a great and powerful program for graduate students, academics, and other researchers. Great for storing readings, pdfs, and notes for projects, classes, etc.

I like the way we can organize our pieces of content in a document using tiles and tabs. We normally separate tabs for drafts and clean copies for our creatives. Subpages also help to store some inspirations and personal notes. A big plus is the ability to comment and get notifications when someone comments on your notes which is really handy for collaborative work.

I like how easy it's to use the tool. I can quickly break my findings into fragments using the cards (tiles) and move them around just like I need. Also I like the possibility of creating sub-pages. It allows me to avoid cluttering of the main page.

The thing I like best is that I can export all of the mail from mac mail into devonthink. I then have access to that email, not only from my mac, but also from my iPad and iPhone. The only thing I dislike happens to be one of the things I like most about Devonthink -- The email archiving capability is great, except for the fact that email that is archived to Devonthink is not deleted from Mac Mail. It's not horrible, since I only archived filed email.
