Melissa Scholes Young is the author of the novels Flood and The Hive. A contributing editor for Fiction Writers Review, she is the editor of two volumes of D.C. Women Writers: Grace in Darkness and Furious Gravity. Her work has appeared in several periodicals, including The Atlantic, Ploughshares, and Narrative. Named a Bread Loaf Camargo Fellow and a Quarry Farm Fellow at the Center for Mark Twain Studies, she is an associate professor in the department of literature at American University.
