Pastor and author James Emery White leads his church and his life with a singular mission: to turn spiritual explorers into fully devoted followers of Christ. The obvious first step in this process is for someone to cross the line of faith-to say, “I believe.” That was the heart behind his book Christianity for People Who Aren’t Christians. But what comes after “I believe” is equally important, and it’s the way someone truly becomes a fully devoted follower of Christ.
This manual for discipleship takes new Christians through the basics of growing in the faith and connecting with the church, including: prioritizing Bible study, developing a regular prayer life, spending quiet time with God, plugging into the life of a local church, experiencing God in worship, finding ways to serve others, being faithful with finances, and more.
A perfect resource for pastors and ministry leaders to offer to the new believers in their midst, After “I Believe” is a solid foundation for anyone seeking to build a vibrant Christian life.

Are you tired of getting the standard cookie-cutter answers to questions you aren’t even asking? This candid book offers uncommon answers to both classic and bleeding-edge questions you may have about Christians and Christianity, such as – Is there a God? – Why do the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus matter? – Why is there so much suffering in the world? – Why do Christians think there is only one way to know God? – How do I reconcile the Bible’s picture of Christ’s followers with the actual Christians I know who have disappointed me? Covering such topics as astrophysics, social justice, and acceptance of the LGBTQ community, this one-of-a-kind book is perfect for anyone skeptical of Christianity who values honest answers to their honest questions.

This is only the third time in the history of the church that both the mission field and the way we communicate with that mission field have changed. This age has not been the only significant cultural development of our day. In terms of communicating to our mission field, there has also been a digital revolution.
When the early Christian movement burst onto the scene, the culture was pre-Christian in orientation and communication was largely oral in nature. The first manifestation of the church, Church 1.0, was largely oriented toward this context. With the conversion of Constantine and the subsequent fall of Rome (leaving the church as the only social glue), Christianity loomed large over the world coupled with communication moving toward a written form and eventually mechanized. Church 2.0 met that challenge. We now live in a post-Christian world that has simultaneously gone through a digital revolution in communication. This calls for Church 3.0, a hybrid church that is both physical and digital, for the believer and for the non-Christian.
In Hybrid Church, James Emery White addresses the post-pandemic church in the US. Because of COVID-19, nearly every church in the US was forced to adapt to a quarantine and adopt new ministry strategies, including digital technologies they may have avoided before. White asks churches to see this as a positive and keep a dual physical and digital strategy to reach a post-Christian culture in a digital age. It is almost universally agreed that the future of the church is to be “hybrid” in nature, meaning both physical and digital, for the believer yet reaching out to a post-Christian world. With Hybrid Church, James Emery White casts the vision and draws the roadmap for ministry in a post-Christian digital world.

Move over Boomers, Xers, and Millennials; there’s a new generation-making up more than twenty-five percent of the U.S. population-that represents a seismic cultural shift. Born approximately between 1993 and 2012, Generation Z is the first truly post-Christian generation, and they are poised to challenge every church to rethink its role in light of a rapidly changing culture.
From the award-winning author of The Rise of the Nones comes this enlightening introduction to the youngest generation. James Emery White explains who this generation is, how it came to be, and the impact it is likely to have on the nation and the faith. Then he reintroduces us to the ancient countercultural model of the early church, arguing that this is the model Christian leaders must adopt and adapt if we are to reach members of Generation Z with the gospel. He helps listeners rethink evangelistic and apologetic methods, cultivate a culture of invitation, and communicate with this connected generation where they are.
Pastors, ministry leaders, youth workers, and parents will find this an essential and hopeful resource.

John Adams and Thomas Jefferson lived in serious times. And, because they chose to live serious lives they changed the course of history. Serious times met with serious lives. This is the means by which the kingdom of God is advanced and the life of a Christ follower is measured. // As the modern era transitions into postmodern turbulence, we too find ourselves in serious times. How can you make a difference in the world today? How can you be an influence for Christ? How can you live a life that matters? // There is a great movement of God that has been set loose in the world. In this book James Emery White explores what it means to be in the front lines of what God is doing. It’s about action. But more than that it’s about character and our connectedness with God.
