John E. Smith
John E. Smith (1921-2009) taught at Yale for nearly forty years.
Among his many publications are Reason and God, The Spirit of American Philosophy, Themes
in American Philosophy, Royce’s Social Infinite, and Quasi-Religions: Hinduism, Marxism, Nationalism. He was a major
contributor to contemporary philosophy, and several books have been written
about his life and works.
