Two hundred meters below the ocean’s surface, you can’t run, you can’t hide, and the truth won’t set you free.
An officer hangs himself in the engine room of naval submarine HMS Tenacity. A woman’s murder bears disturbing similarities to an old case. Lieutenant Danielle “Dan” Lewis grasps for the truth–before it submerges in the gray waters of the English Channel.
Cramped, claustrophobic, and under strict command, the confines of HMS Tenacity are unwelcoming in the best of circumstances. For Dan, the only female aboard, who must methodically interrogate a tight-knit and hostile crew, it’s her own special place in hell.
Recently reassigned to the Special Investigation Branch’s Kill Team, Dan’s hardheaded reputation precedes her. But facing an obstinate ship’s company, a commanding officer too eager to close the case, and a constant threat of unfriendly male interest, she learns that under enough pressure, everyone has their breaking point.

A teenage sailor disappears from HMS Defiance, an infamous closed case reopens, and Lieutenant Danielle Lewis fights for truth and survival in this high-octane military thriller.
After events aboard the submarine HMS Tenacity, Lieutenant Danielle “Dan” Lewis of the Royal Navy’s Kill Team was warned not to pursue those responsible. She should walk away and stop investigating, but her thirst for justice means she can’t let it go.
But even as Dan defies the order, continuing to track a sailor on the run, her investigative skills are needed on a new case. A young Wren (member of the Women’s Royal Naval Service) has gone missing from the warship Defiance, last seen going aboard but never seen leaving. There is no trace of the girl, and Dan must work her way through a web of witness accounts to uncover what might motivate her to run–or what might motivate a predator to take her.
Following in the wake of the missing girl, Dan soon closes in on her quarry but is forced to question whether she is the one who was being hunted all along.
