Scotty Smiley

Captain Scotty Smiley, a Ranger and combat-diver qualified infantryman, was the Army’s first active-duty, blind company commander. He was named Soldier of the Year in 2007, won and ESPY in 2008, and has received the Bronze Star, Purple McArthur Leadership Award. He recently taught at West Point and now commands the Warrior Transition Unit. Scotty and his wife, Tiffany, are both from Pasco, Washington, and are the proud parents of two sons.
