James Fouhey is the narrator of Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes audiobook that was written by James Dean

James Dean is the original creator and illustrator of Pete the Cat. He is a self-taught artist originally from Fort Payne, Alabama. His passion for drawing became apparent at a young age, and as a child, you could find James drawing his favorite characters like Snoopy and Yogi Bear.

James earned his degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and went on to work for Georgia Power for a number of years. Eventually, he was called to pursue his art full-time and began selling his work at art festivals around the Southeast.

It was during this time that he began creating paintings and drawing of his cat, Pete. The little blue cat showed up as a character in James’s artwork around 1999 and has been a permanent fixture ever since.

James Dean’s art has been sold in more than ninety galleries and shops across the United States. He has devoted his paintings to Pete the Cat for fifteen years and turned his natural love for cats into his life’s work. James published his first book, The Misadventures of Pete the Cat, a history of his artwork, in 2006, and he illustrated his first self-published children’s book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, in 2008. There are now almost 100 published Pete the Cat titles with more coming out all the time.

James is humbled every day by the success that this groovy blue cat has brought him. He says positively affecting children’s lives is his number one priority, and he is grateful to have such an amazing audience to work for.

Quirkily and colorfully drawn children’s story. Pete the Cat and Gus the Duck bake ten cupcakes but they keep disappearing. Who could be taking them? The squirrel? The alligator? The turtle? The frog? A story of friendship and forgiveness. What is there not to love about a cat and cupcakes?

This is my first book reading from these two authors and it didn’t disappoint. This book is about finding the culprit who ate the cupcakes and more importantly giving second changes. Pete the Cat is a great book for kids.

A cute children's story about missing cupcakes and who the possible culprit could be. A fun little book and quick read that children will love.

This is a book that teaches math concepts using suspense, who took the missing cupcakes? The book shows pages with clues of who could have taken the cupcakes (footprints). After reading the story I will the children split up into small groups. Some students will be coloring and decorating their own cupcakes. They will get paper sprinkles, markers, crayons, and glitter. Some students will be in the science center identifying different footprints. I will ask them, are these people or animal prints? I will be exposing them to alligator tracks, puppy prints, horse prints, and barefoot prints.

This is such a cute book! I would give this a 100 star rating if it was possible. My 4 year old insists on us reading it to him multiple times a day. He practically has it memorized where I can stop at the second to the last word and he will finish the last word. Or I will ask him "hey what did the turtle say?"I purchased this through scholastic from a book order with his Pre-K class. However, he cannot wait to go to the library to find more Pete the Cat books!
