The little girl in this book was charming and creative and I found that refreshing. If I was in the classroom teaching I would use this book for sure. I would have each student come up with a fun project to do with the leaves outside. This book not only talked about creativity, but also how to be helpful when there are chores to be done around the house. Nancy shows good morals to her young readers. This book is for preschoolers through 3rd graders. The genre is contemporary realistic.

If you are a Fancy Nancy fan, this is another great installment. A simple introduction to fall for the preschool crowd.

It is fall which is Nancy's favorite season. She offers to help her parents to rake leaves, but spends more time collecting the beautiful and colorful leaves. She then decides she must do something new and special with these leaves. (I will not give away what that is)Although Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser are given credit on the front cover, O'Connor did not write this book and Glasser only created the front cover. The inside illustrations are created by someone else. The illustrations are colorful and invite a sense of fun. But the writing is most definitely missing the spark you would find in an original Fancy Nancy book. However, the story is still an enjoyable one in which children can learn new words so I can still happily recommend it, especially during autumn for ages 3-7.

Autumn has arrived, and Nancy and her family are enjoying the weather as they rake the leaves -- setting aside a few of the prettiest ones for a festive project, of course.Nancy's enthusiasm is contagious, as usual, making this book a fun way to celebrate the changing seasons. Her vocabulary is particularly fun in this volume, with such words as 'foliage,' 'burgundy,' and 'unique,' and the section where she brainstorms fun activities to do with fallen leaves may inspire a few art projects for creative readers. Also contains a sheet of fall-themed stickers.

Nancy is always fun in our family. The giggles and squeals to welcome a new book featuring Nancy and her family are vibrant and loud. In this little 8x8" early reader Nancy is delightedly excited about the change in the leaves for the welcoming of the fall season. Then the whole family gets involved in raking leaves. Spending time in the leaves leads toward creativity and science - this would be great to include in a unit study to make the learning run wild! Thanks to HC.

This, like the other books in the Fancy Nancy series, includes lots of elevated vocabulary and fancy activities. It is a paperback book, so it wouldn't be great for a read aloud setting, but it would be nice to have at home. **Disclaimer that there is mention of Christmas at the end of the book**

Nancy decides to help her parents clean up the leaves in the yard. She loves this time of year with the changing of the colors. What can she use the leaves for?? Leave it to Frenchie to make a mess and to give Nancy an idea for what to do with the leaves.

This is a pretty nice story of fall and the changing leaves. Shorter than most of the previous versions about Fancy Nancy.
