Fancy Nancy prepares for a Halloween party. Of course, her costume must be fancy! After trying on several costumes, Nancy decides to go to a Halloween party as a grape. Fancy Nancy runs into trouble, however, when the purple balloons on her costume start popping.Even though many picture books take the main character and throw together a holiday book, I think this book definitely stands out among the rest. Nancy’s fashion sense fits perfectly in with the plot of the book–finding the most fabulous Halloween costume. Even though the book isn’t written by Fancy Nancy’s creator, the book appears consistent with the other Fancy Nancy books.One of my favorite aspects of the Fancy Nancy series is Nancy’s colorful language. She always sneaks in synonym within her speech. I think this is a great way to expose young readers to more advanced vocabulary in a fun way, but also give Nancy an interesting and unique personality.Another aspect of this book that I really enjoyed was the sticker activity in the end that involved the reader in the story. Even though my used copy already had the last page filled out, I think readers will love dressing up one of their favorite children’s book characters in an amazing costume.Fancy Nancy is a solid Halloween book for young readers. With a fun main character and additional sticker activity, I give this book four out of five stars.

** spoiler alert ** A fun story that introduces a few fancy words. Great for Halloween, but the end is slightly problematic.Nancy is a cluster of grapes for Halloween. It is comprised of balloons which ultimately pop, leaving her without a costume. On the final page, she encourages the reader to correct this by creating a new costume for her by placing stickers all over her. My library edition doesn't have the stickers. Even if it did, after you use the stickers then you can't really use the book again.I think it would be great to tell this story and then give a group of kids a handout of Nancy and a bunch of stickers so they can each create a new costume, and you can save your book.

I am pretty new to the world of fancy Nancy but I really adore these stories she is really creatives and out going and is not a Cookie cut type of girl/ character what an amazing persona for young kids, I Instead of being like everyone else be unique and just be you. This has been the cutest of the Halloween books I have read so far. Nancy dressing like a chute grape out then having it keep popping while taking part at the party which makes her of course sad but now it up to you to help her make a new costume :) in couraging kids imagination and their energy

This book is about Nancy going to a Halloween party. She is a bunch of grapes and her costume is a bunch of balloons. But when Nancy plays the party games her balloons slowly pop and now she is just a brown stick. This book breaks the fourth barrier and comes with stickers so that the kids can fix her outfit and make her fancy again. This is fun for the first use of the book, but in the long run kids just have to read the page not fix the dress because there are no stickers left.

My best friend's daughter asked me to read this to her over breakfast at Walker Bros yesterday. I cracked up at the title- possibly one of the best book titles I've ever heard! I'm new to this Fancy Nancy series, but I immediately loved it. The vocabulary the author throws in is impressive, and then Nancy says, "That's a fancy way of saying..." Super cute, funny, and engaging.

fancy Nancy is a wonderful character. This is a book that children will love to have read aloud. In the classroom this book will be useful when talking about using imagination, talking about Adjectives, Halloween, and it could just be a fun read.

This book would be a great book to read to students on Halloween. After reading this book a teacher could let the children all take turns talking about their costumes. They could even take turns choosing a new costume for Nancy sense her grape costume didn't work out.

Fancy Nancy books are always great as vocab boosters. It is nice to see a book that adds more challenging words for the kids. This book is, of course, about Halloween and dressing up and Nancy's costume failure (which is where the bust comes in). Cute.

This is a really cute book about a costume party. It's not scary so I think it would be good in the classroom. Students could use their creative side when reading this book and design their own costume.

I love reading Fancy Nancy to my 4 year old daughter. Cute pictures, easy text.

One of my daughter's favorite stories. I love the vocabulary that Nancy uses. It encourages the kids to learn new words.
