“Shelley Shepard Gray writes with honesty, tenderness, and depth.”
–Jillian Hart

Found is the final book in the Secrets of Crittenden County trilogy by beloved author Shelley Shepard Gray, who writes powerful novels set in a world of strong faith and simple living. The New York Times bestselling author of the popular Sisters of the Heart and Seasons of Sugarcreek series immerses her readers in the Amish life, like fellow bestselling authors Beverly Lewis, Wanda Brunstetter, and Cindy Woodsmall. In Found, Gray’s unforgettable trilogy of what happens when a terrible crime that strikes a close knit Amish community comes full-circle, “Englisher” Detective Luke Reynolds discovers the identity of Perry Borntrager’s killer and the community must come to terms with the surprising revelation. In this third book of a most intriguing trilogy, readers finally learn exactly how Perry met his end. But almost more interesting than solving the questions about his demise are the relationships between the characters in the book. When an Amish and an Englisher become attracted to each other, to further the relationship one or the other must change. This is a problem that confronts more than one couple in this novel. And still others must accept what has happened in their community and rise above it, forgiving the guilty and accepting forgiveness. And yet others must go against family wishes to fulfill their own happiness. This well-written series ends with a satisfying conclusion, even if some questions are not fully answered.

Sometimes a series comes around, you find yourself reading the book so quickly, you realize you're finished before you know it. Then unfortunately there is the long wait before the next book in the series is released. The saddest part is when you realize you've reached the end of the series and you're reading the final novel. It's like saying goodbye to friends, you know you may never see again. Each of them has found a special place in your heart. That's exactly what happens in the conclusion to The Secrets of Crittenden County, by Shelly Shepard Gray in the book, Found.Throughout this series, there has been the murder of an Amish man, Perry Borntrager, who was found lying dead at the bottom of a well and no apparent suspects. We've learned that Perry wasn't well-liked among his Amish neighbors and friends and was recently fired for stealing from the store he was working out. Perry appeared to be living more in the English world than the Amish one, and had recently broken up with his girlfriend, Lydia. It seems besides the fact that the Amish don't talk about their issues to anyone, especially outside the community, they have been keeping secrets from one another as well. Now with the investigation finally wrapping up, we are about to learn who really killed Perry Borntrager as well as find out what will happen to some recent love developments that have happened along the series, especially with the Amish Inn owner, Frannie and the English detective, Luke Reynolds. Will they be able to find a way to make their relationship work despite their cultural differences? What role does love have to play in all this? Lydia has found love with Walker Anderson, but what secrets are they holding? Will Beth find love in the heart of the Amish or will it lead her to interests outside the community instead? What about the notes his sister, Deborah, has been hiding? What do they say? To find out, you'll definitely need to pick up this series, but start at the beginning with Missing, then The Search and finally Found!I received Found by Shelley Shepard Gray compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance and Harper Collins Publishers for my honest review. I've been so excited to be a part of this tour series from the beginning and am both sad and happy. Sad because as I stated above, it's over and it's hard to say goodbye to some of these amazing characters. I am also happy because even though along the way you may have been guessing, who did it and who will finally get together, you will finally have your answers and you might just be surprised when you find out. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and once again will keep this one on my permanent shelf to read again!

A murder mystery. A love story. A inspirational story about the Amish and their neighbors. In their own rights, each element would be an intriguing story, but when combined the three blend into a fascinating tale that is impossible to put down. Author Shelley Shepard Gray manages to do this with her series, The Secrets of Crittenden County. And with "Found," her final volume in this trilogy, Gray wraps up the mesmerizing story of murder among the Amish with finese.Beginning with a short prolouge to remind readers of what has happened previously, Gray takes her cast of characters careening toward the conclusion of a murder investigation that has rocked the quiet community. The Amish and their "English" neighbors alike have struggled since the murder occured, and the young people have been under suspicion for their actions. As the clues begin to unfold, the true idenity of the person responsible comes as a shock to the town (and to the reader!)Gray captures the essence of the quiet Amish ways, their strong sense of faith and morales and she adds in the excitement and turmoil of a murder mystery to create a series that is truly unforgettable. The charming and old-fashioned romance between the young folks is an extra treat for readers, a nice cherry-on-top.I enjoyed this series, and I highly recommend it for mystery lovers, as well as those interested in Amish stories.

Found is the third book in Shelley Shepard Gray's Secrets of Crittenden County series and did not disappoint this reader. The author did a great job of keeping the identity of the culprit hidden till pretty much the end of the book which of course, keeps the reader's interest, wondering who did the deed. I like how she wrapped up things with several of the characters that have been in all three books of the series. Found is a story that explores the time-tested bonds of a small community, the healing power of forgiveness, and the importance of friendship and love. Again Bernadette Dunne has done a fantastic job with the narration of the audio version of the book.

Missing, The Search, and Found a trilogy by Shelley Shepard GrayA three-part mystery novel centered around an Amish county. There was a young man who was considering leaving the Amish community who turned up murdered. The books weave a tale of a close-knit community that doesn't want to let a murder, even of one of their own, be solved out of fear that they're (a) not being good forgiving Amish, (b) are afraid of what their little piece of the puzzle says, and (c) dislike the outsiders who are investigating.Included in each of the three novels are individual coming of age stories and blooming romances, showing that even in the middle of a terrible situation, life goes on.

This book picks up where book 2 left off. Mose (the sheriff) and Luke (the Cincinnatti detective) are frustrated because their murder case has dragged on for so long without resolution. However, certain facts now come to light that lead them on a new line of questioning. They consider arresting one of the victim's friends, but a quasi-confession leads the prime suspect to turn in someone he loves dearly. Great series. I'm looking forward to reading the Christmas novella with these same characters.

Hate to see it end.I have finished the last book in this series and It’s time to say goodbye to the people and story in this authors world. That to me says the author has done her job when the characters become a real.

Wow! Excellent! Never read a better series. The author did an excellent job keeping up the suspense and "who done it" all the way into the third book - along with building relationships. I woulda liked to have seen something come of Beth and Chris though :(

** spoiler alert ** I found this a great beach read. I wish only that I had available the first two books in the series. I added Gray to my list of authors I can depend upon.! Who killed Perry? Jacob seems the most logical choice but you have to read it to find who the real killer is!

The author did a good job on keeping my guessing as to the killer in this series. I enjoyed all the books, but unearthing the murderer was a little bittersweet.

A good conclusion to the murder mystery from book one and two. (I did skim faster through this book to solve the mystery.) I would recommend this trilogy for a weekend getaway fast read.
