Bell would do anything for Dane. He’s the fantasy that always kept her going. A child genius hidden away by her family, Bell was the secret no one talked about, the girl no one wanted. 3.5 stars. Audiobook review. Bell is a saint for turning out how she did with two of the most poisonous and evil people as her kin. I'm genuinely surprised she wasn't messed up but rather a well adjusted adult. The circumstances under which she grew up were atrocious and inhumane. It goes to show that caring for a child is much more than making sure they don't starve. Her connection with Dane was sweet and tender. The growth in the sexy Cowboys is quite staggering. I enjoyed the change in Bell as well, particularly as she begins to stand up for herself more. As a couple, they complimented one another. The plot was interesting. The writing very strong. Safety: No OW/OM/sharing though Dane has a loooot of former hookups trying to get a piece of him. There's severe abuse.

Her Lucky Cowboy was a heartfelt and moving home town ranch story.Dane, the youngest and last of the Bowden brothers, was gored by a bull and has permanent damage to his leg. The night of that tragic accident, Dane was saved by a young doctor who happened to be in the rodeo crowd. Bell was the unwanted, bastard child of a successful man. His mother raised her in a home filled with bitterness and hate, hidden away from everyone. Her upbringing left her isolated but Bell still managed to make something of herself and become a successful doctor. So, when the acknowledge lady’s man, Dane, sets his sights on Bell we get a front row seats to a marvelous rocky romance.I loved how Dane ends up champion Bell. You could say the saving goes both ways. Her Lucky Cowboy made me laugh and cry, putting me through the gambit of emotions you only find in outstanding storytelling. To put it simply, Her Lucky Cowboy is the perfect hometown ranch romance.I received this ARC copy of Her Lucky Cowboy from Avon in exchanged for a honest review. Wow! Ryan wrote an amazing emotional read that had me in tears and looking forward to a fantastic ending. She did not disappoint with this!I loved the beginning when it starts out where Bell saves Dane for the first time when he was 15 and fell off his horse. Then jumps into present day where she saves his life after getting hurt during a Vegas bull riding show. I really felt for Bell and the way she grew up. Her father was married and had a daughter when he had an affair and the result was Bell. Her mother basically abandoned her to her fathers parents and the only person who loved Bell was her grandfather. She didn't lead a normal life but after meeting Dane and getting to know him her life if actually looking up.I love how Dane wants to get to know her and how he changes over time with his thinking and what he really wants now. These two were perfectly written for one another and they balanced out perfectly. This story had just the right amount of romance and courting for their relationship. It also had a little suspense that made me wonder what would happen next. I loved the characters and at parts I couldn't help myself when I teared up. It was such an emotional story but it did have some humor. The ending was perfectly wrapped in a red bow that just brought a smile to my face. For a person who never had friends or love, Bell won the jackpot with Dane. Hopefully there will be more to this series and more happily ever afters in the making. Ryan can sure deliver a fantastic read! This is a must read and keep the tissues close.

I have zero complaints. ZERO! I really liked this story, it was exactly what I needed to read right now. A sweet and sexy romance with a smidgen of suspense. Probably wouldn't consider it a "favorite" like most of my five-star reads, but definitely worthy of the rating.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance Summary  Dane Bowden, is a champion rodeo rider, and has worked hard to win his last rodeo ride. But after reaching the eight seconds, he is injured from the bull who attacks him and crushes his leg, the doctor who saves his leg and his life is the same girl who saved his life years ago but disappeared and was unable to find her until now. Bell has always admired Dane, ever since she saved him and felt his sweet smile and gentle touch, but knew she could never have him. Bell is a dedicated and genius Doctor, she struggles with human contact and doesn't know how to react to Dane's flirtatious ways, she refuses to be another of his "women" that he seems to collect. Dane wants Bell, but not just to make love to, her wants her for herself. He sees a woman that he can't resist, a sweet and kind young woman, that has been dealt a harsh blow in life. While he ends up at home on his ranch, that his parents left for him, he is determined to pursue her, because he knows that she is something pure and special and wants to know more about Bell. But Bell is being stubborn, and is making Dane work for his affections. Soon Bell will need to face her past if she wants to have a future with love and family, a life she has only dreamed of or read in books, but if Bell chooses to trust in Dane's love...then she can have it all! The Hero Dane Bowden is a cowboy, and a Rodeo Bull Rider. He grew up on a ranch with a loving family, and his brothers. He is dedicated, honest and hardworking. Dane is not your average hero. Dane while working on the ranch, fell off his horse and ended up injured, and a young woman with a face of an angel and a kind smile saved him until his father was able to reach him. He never knew who this mysterious angel was, but he searched for her. He knew that he needed to find the person who saved his life. Now it has been years, but he has never forgotten his mysterious lady. When he almost loses his life and his leg, but this same angel fights for him and saves his life, he refuses to let go of her this time. This time he will prove to her that she is worth fighting for. Dane was quite a delicious hero, despite his flock of "women". He has this type of confidence that is appealing, but he has never really had to fight for a woman before. He is famous and that draws women to him like bees to honey. What I loved most about him was how he takes it all in, and accepts it and is quite persistent and never gives up. The Heroine  Bell, was the result of her father having a one night affair. Her mother dumped her with her father. Her father already had a family, and refuses to let anyone know of Bell and deserted her with his mother. Bell was raised with a loving grandfather until he died when she was young, but her grandmother views her as a sin and worthless. Bell inherited her genius brain to her father and grandfather. When a opportunity arises for her to go to college, she takes it and by the time she was in her early twenties she was already working as a surgeon. Bell is smart, loves her books but lives alone. She doesn't know how to interact with others on a personal level just a professional one. Her childhood made her who she is. My heart just reached out for Bell, because she has never really known much love except from her grandfather who passed away when she was little. She has been emotionally abused by her grandmother, but despite the horrid way she has been treated, Bell is sweet and loving and doesn't have an unkind word to say about anyone. Plot and Story Line  Her Lucky Cowboy is the third book, and this is the last brother's story. Like the two previous books, this story had a level of emotional intensity that definitely made me feel so drawn to this story. From the beginning, where we see how Bell and Dane first meet, and I am not sure if it was intending to be written in this way but it pulled me right in to the story. I was drawn to both of these characters. Then it speeds up to the rodeo ride that Dane takes. Bell is with her sister at this point, a sister she is trying to reconnect with, when Dane gets hurt. She rushes down to save him and almost loses her life in the process from the bull that has crushed his leg. Bell knows her stuff, because she is one of the few surgeons able to save his leg. What I find most admirable about Bell is her fierce nature that slowly comes out. In the beginning of the story she is very reserved and keeps to herself. She isn't used to interacting with others other than on a professional level, but Dane is a bit persistent. We see how much Bell changes from zero personal contact, to opening herself up to friendship...passion...and love. Dane is a character you just are fighting for, because you see how much he connects to Bell on an emotional level. Even though there is an attraction, it takes some time before they get to the "sex" part of the story. We see how they need to build up a trust first, because Bell has almost zero experience in the intimate department and has never seen a real relationship work. We also have an added element to the story, an element of danger. Now part of this element, really broke my heart, and we see how this danger brings them even closer together. The Bowden family was a hoot...I just loved seeing the brothers and their wives and the way they just love Bell immediately. This was a story that just pulled me in and I loved every moment. It was quite an intense story that had me hooked till the end. The Cover  I just love this cover, I love the male model's pose here, sexy and strong...I love the saddle and the black hat Overall View  Her Lucky Cowboy is a emotional and suspense filled romance that will give you laughs....and will have moments to make you cry. Its a story that will tug at your heartstrings and you will want to reach out for more...Heartwarming and Brilliant! At Wolf Ranch (1) When It's Right (2) Her Lucky Cowboy (3) Stone Cold Cowboy (4)

Her Lucky Cowboy…whoa! I think I might be the lucky one, to have gotten my hot, little hands on this book. I’ve enjoyed the other Montana Men, but Dane is officially my favorite—as I suspected he might be from the start.Years ago, Dane Bowden was saved by an angel—a beautiful girl that disappeared without a trace. At the end of his championship rodeo career, Dane suffers an accident that leaves him prone…and staring into the same blue eyes that saved him a decade earlier. Dr. Bell has experienced much success in her short life. But this genius doctor was all but abandoned by the family that hid her from the public eye, and her social skills are sub-par. There’s no way a handsome, desirable man like Dane Bowden—her fantasy—would ever want her. Right? Except Dane does want the Doc, and he’s determined to prove it to her. She’s his angel, and when she is threatened by his past, he’ll do whatever it takes to save her…like she did for him. I loved this book!! It was funny, sexy, sweet and deeply emotion in turn, and I couldn’t put it down. I had wanted to read Dane’s story from his first appearance in this excellent cowboy series, and I am thrilled with how it played out. Jennifer Ryan gave the playboy a story that was suspenseful and a little heart-breaking, yet so full of hope my heart near exploded. It could have gone the other way. I had high expectations for this one, and that often spells disaster, but not here. Dane was persistent, kind and wonderfully playful with the somewhat awkward, but absolutely loveable Bell. I swooned for him, and the way he was intent on making Bell see that he’d changed…for her. And why wouldn’t he want to change his ways for her? Bell is the kind of woman I would love to be friends with; a smart, strong and generous soul, one that has endured much and still tries to see the best even as she feels (rightful) resentment for her circumstances. Both Bell and Dane were easy to love, and together they made a perfect romance couple. It just felt good with them—never forced, never rushed, always so right.Yes, I do feel lucky to have read this story. The way Dane proves what makes a man and protects what he considers his, the love that is shared in this wonderful family, along with the very hot, very steamy scenes, make Her Lucky Cowboy the perfect weekend read. My only complaint is that it’s over. I would read more about this couple in a heartbeat. I guess I’ll just have to wait for more of Ms. Ryan’s Montana Men. ~ Beth, 5 stars

Dane Bowden was saved as a boy by his angel after being thrown from his horse. In the blink of an eye she was there and just as fast she was gone. Now years later after winning the rodeo championship his bull attacks him and crushes his leg only to again be saved by his angel. Dr Bell has led a hard life. Sure she is literally a genius but her family disowned her and the one person who truly loved and cherished her, her grandfather, died when she was young. Tucked away in the house with her crazy and religious grandmother it is amazing Bell is sane at all. At the rodeo with her half sister, the chosen one, she watches as Dane is injured and she runs into action, hoping fences, running to Dane and herself being attacked by the damn bull. With a long road to recovery and a man intent on showing her he wants to be worthy of her Bell will have to fight her own insecurities and find her happiness and of course just as they are someone will endanger lives and risk their HEA. 4.5 stars

Dane and Bell. I bought this with another of her books that I hated. But I thought since I had it I should listen... I ended up really enjoying it! It's like it wasn't written by the same person.Kind of Bones and Booth story. Bell is a genius with a horrible childhood who grew up to become a applauded surgeon in her mid 20's. She really does come across as super smart, and not just 'cause the author said so. She's cool and collected and short on social skills because of her horribly sheltered upbringing. Dane was her neighbour, but never knew she was there til the one day she saves him, never to be seen again. Well, until she saves his life a second time after he wins the grand prize at the rodeo. He spent his early 20's as a happy o lucky manho winning rodeo prizes. Even before she saved his life, he was tired of it all and planned to return home to help take over his parents ranch. He wants Bell from the get go, but he has a lengthy reputation as a manho whose type is tall busty airhead blonds. Bell is dark haired and anything but an airhead. I loved the way she would psychoanalyze his slutty ways! He's not used to having to work for a date, yet he never complains or gives up hope. To be honest it would have been a bit boring, if it weren't for the psycho ex-friend determined to destroy his happiness. Still kinda stunned I enjoyed this one so much when I hated the first two books I read by this author...

Posted on What I'm ReadingWhat an emotional ringer Her Lucky Cowboy happen to be. When I started to read this I didn't expected to be an emotional wrecking ball. Yes, Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball popped in my head. Rough doesn't begin to describe what I went through as I read through the story. A lot of it stems from Bell's backstory. Oh my, I don't know if we could give an even more tragic backstory. Basically, she's the bastard daughter of Dr. Warwick, who made a mistake when he younger. Too prideful to admit he made one, he decide to hide Bell at his parent's home never look back. While there Bell didn't get a chance to feel love, because she was raised by crazy religious nut job called grandma. Seriously, she was horrible. There were times I wanted to crawl into the story to scream at the grandma and say, "You call yourself a christian. Oh my god you are a horrible person. Do you really think Jesus would be proud of you." Yes, I totally felt that way. I mean grandma would tell "Bell every day that she was nothing but a sin, a spawn of evil, something to be hidden away from civilized, God-fearing people. Even her own parents had recognized the evil in her and cast her out."Heart breaking to see those hateful words. Bell just needed someone to standup for her. Good thing Dane stepped up to the plate. Dane is an awesome character. However, he's kind of a manwhore. I mean he had no problem with women chasing him, but when it came to Bell he had to change his game. Of course, when he hears about Bell's past, he really has to up his game. After all Bell has been told most of her life that she was evil and no good, even though she's a doctor. I love how Dane steps up and prove time and time again that he wants to be in Bell's life. It takes him a while to get her to understand. Beside Dane chasing Bell, there is trouble a stirring. We see that one his friends is in trouble and he doesn't know how to save her. Another heartbreaking moment. I don't want to go into too much detail about that situation, but it does get a little hairy towards the end. We know there is a happy ending, but getting their is a big challenge. However, I do love this line that was towards the end:"You have filled up my heart and my life with everything I never knew I was missing until I found you. I'm the lucky one."Yes, you may melt. Loved this story, but you will need a box of tissue. If you aren't crying at some point Her Lucky Cowboy, you have truly been desensitize. This is story that truly is about overcoming the past and finding a new hope and start. I can't wait for more from this series. There will be more to come with the next lucky bachelors. I leave you with my all time favorite quote from the story which made me think of Aqua's Barbie Girl: "He's like a one of those bug zapper lights. He attracts every blonde in a hundred-yard radius," Bell commented.Copy provided by Avon via Edelweiss.

Wow. I finished this book late at night and I couldn’t go to sleep afterwards. I was so emotionally bankrupt that I was physically affected by the story.Don’t get me wrong, this is a beautiful love story and what I expect from the lovely author. There was just so much heartache and sorrow that I spent most of the book in tears. I tend to get overly emotional with certain content but other readers may not feel the way I do. And that is completely okay. Certain aspects of the book wrenched my heart on a fundamental level and I empathized with the characters more than I should have.I am sorry I’m not giving more details but at this state in the book hangover recovery process, I’m too emotionally raw to form a good enough review. Just know this is a true romance with realistic characters, and a suspenseful aspect to the story.Jennifer Ryan is a great author and I would definitely recommend HER LUCKY COWBOY but I’d also suggest you keep the tissues handy!***I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. I fell in love with Dane Bowden in this latest installment of Jennifer Ryan's Montana Men series. This story is full of romance, suspense and family. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. Dane is such a great lovable hero, and Bell is a truly likable heroine and their chemistry is undeniable. Jennifer Ryan's Montana Men series is not to be missed if you are a fan of a great cowboy romance. All of the Montana Men novels can stand alone, but if you love a great fictional family, I recommend reading this series in order. Each new chapter feels like a family reunion and trust me I wouldn't mind sitting down at the dinner table with these handsome cowboys! I gave Her Lucky Cowboy 5 STARS and will be adding it to my favorite books shelf on Goodreads.*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I honestly loved this book!*

It doesn’t take us long in Her Lucky Cowboy to learn that our heroine Bell is heroic, a brilliant doctor and deeply if secretly in love with our hero Dane Bowen youngest brother of the Bowen clan featured in the first two Montana Men books. Dane’s tattoo reveals that despite his hedonistic lifestyle Bell has been his literal dream woman since their brief encounter when he was fifteen. Let me start out by stating I loved this book. I loved Bell, I loved Dane and his close-knit family. The story moves along at a nice pace as Dane recovers from his injuries while he attempts to win the trust and heart of Bell the young socially awkward surgeon who saved both his life and his leg. At this point I’ll repeat the warning that if you’re not someone who can deal with violence against women, Ms. Ryan’s books may not be for you. This book contains the brutal murder of a young mother by a homicidal maniac who then turns his attention to Dane and Bell. Almost all the characters, Gabe & Ella, Blake & Gillian, Caleb & Summer etc. from the two previous books make appearances in this book in supporting roles. I appreciated the fact that she cared that her readers would want to have some sort of closure with the extended Bowen family we’ve come to know in the series as I will miss them all. One small criticism of this book is from the charity dinner forward, I felt like I was being force fed multiple doses of the new family of men the next set of stories is based upon just to get me familiar with and interested in their stories. Still wish female millionaire business tycoon heroines Ella (Gabe’s wife) and Jenna (Caleb’s sister-in-law) had connected? They have so much in common it would have made a fun little side story. The charity dinner for the new hospital/clinic would have been an ideal place for them to meet and join financial forces for a good cause. But I’m just a reader, not the writer. There were only a couple of eye rollers for me in this story. The first was that anyone who grew up in the emotionally abusive house that Bell did could ever grow up to become the person she was supposed to be. But then that was part of what made her so exceptionally wonderful, the same as with Gillian, Blake’s wife from the second story. I found the construct that she went by Bell as her first name and Dr. Bell as her formal title confusing. It was supposed to represent the rejection of her father, mother and paternal grandmother who refused to even give her their surname but still, how did it work, when she had to sign a legal document or even turn in a college paper? The other was both the seemingly lightning speed the previously extremely shy and unsure Bell moved from their first kiss to asking Dane to make love to her and the fact that at the time she was all banged up with a sprained knee and bruised hip from almost being run down earlier that day. Dane’s one month recovery to nearly 100% from such severe injuries was my other eye roller. Seriously it takes longer than that to recover from a sprained ankle. Over all these things did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. I’d recommend both this book and the previous two in the series to anyone who enjoys a good modern romance/crime drama involving hunky salt of the earth ranchers and the incredible women that steal their hearts.
