With Passions of a Wicked Earl, USA Today and New York Times bestseller Lorraine Heath kicks off a new series of delightfully sinful historical romance novels featuring “London’s Greatest Lovers.” The first romantic adventure involving the titled and rakish sons of a scandalous Dowager Duchess and their tales of passion, pleasure, and love, Passions of a Wicked Earl concerns the innocent and unfairly disgraced young wife of the first brother and her brazen attempts to win back the dashing rogue’s heart…by any means necessary!

Lorraine Heath does it again. She presents you with a situation you don't see how it can possibly get to the HEA, and then she does.I don't love having the mistress be villainized, but I did still enjoy this story a lot. I really felt for these two characters who were pushed into an arranged marriage too young and it caused problems for them real quick.Overall this was a wonderful 2nd chance romance.TW: death of a pet and cheating.4.5/5 stars

This book is a masterpiece. I give it 5 Excellent stars . Lorraine Heath is one of my favourite writers ever . I read for her beofre Texas Destiny and Just Wicked Enough and they were awesome. In this book, I had a mixture of feelings such as love , joy , humor and alot of sadness. There were those minutes when I couldnt stop my tears. I liked Clarie and how her character changed from being afraid from every thing to kowning what she want and going for it . The Earl of Wistcliffe had never been loved before and had troubled relationship with his mother and brothers. Sometimes I had a love/hate relationship with him . One of the sadiest scenes when he was saing goodbye to his dog.I highly Recommend this book. Love it

Finding his young bride in bed with his own brother on their wedding night was the ultimate betrayal for Morgan Lyons, eighth Earl of Westcliffe. He banishes her to his country estate, Lyons Place, and then returns to London indulging in a string of affairs. A bitter Earl of Westcliffe is outraged when he finds his wife Claire at his London home. He had exiled her three years ago when he caught her in the arms of his younger brother, Stephen, on their wedding night. In need of her substantial dowry, Westcliffe remained married to Claire but banished her to their country estate without consummating their marriage. She was left alone to manage his estate while he lived the life of a bachelor in town. Morgan Lyons, the Earl of Westcliffe, finds pleasure in many women, but is cold and claims he has no heart. His wife betrayed him 3 years ago on their wedding night with his brother, and he has not forgiven either of them. He banished her to his country estate and has not seen her since.Lorraine Heath is one of a select number of authors in the world of Historical Romance whose books are automatic buys for me. PASSIONS OF A WICKED EARL, the first book in her new series, London’s Greatest Lovers, is a deeply emotional story of two people who must look beyond their feelings of hurt, fear and betrayal to discover trust and ultimately love. The first in a series about 3 brothers. At first I was skeptical with the series. Based on the blurbs I thought I wouldn't like the three brothers. But Lorraine Heath manage to turn these three somewhat brooding brothers into passionate wicked likeable heroes. “You are never a consideration. Quite honestly, Claire, from the moment I delivered you to Lyons Place, I’ve not given a single thought to you.”He’d anticipated marriage to her to her as he’d anticipated nothing else in his life before or after. For the first time she thought she might finally know what he’d experienced on that long-ago night. It shamed her that she’d been so young and self-centred not to have realised it immediately. These moments were nothing like her aunt had described. There was no lying back while he lifted the hem of her nightgown. It was constant moving, constant stroking. It was giving and receiving pleasures. It was groaning while he growled, whimpering while he moaned. It was joy and satisfaction.

Morgan Lyons, the Eighth Earl of Westcliffe loved pleasuring women and loved to receive pleasure as well but he could not feel anything beyond what the glide of skin on skin brought, not with any woman except his wife. Claire Lyons, his wife of but a few hours had been caught in their marriage bed with another man, his younger brother Stephen. And to think he had believed her when she had said she had been an innocent, she had even acted the part for years! Claire Lyons had truly been untouched on her wedding day; Untouched and scared to death of her overbearing, demanding new husband. She had heard the tales of how horrible it was mating with a man and she wanted to escape it, at least for a few more days and so she had concocted a plan with her husband’s younger brother to have Morgan find the two of them in a passionate if somewhat chaste embrace. She had no idea that Stephen had been jealous of his brother and would take the supposed embrace as far as he did. For her efforts of supposed betrayal, she had been sent away to one of Morgan’s country estate’s for three years, but now she was back to claim her rightful spot alongside the earl of Westcliffe and truly become his wife in all things. Unable and unwilling to believe Claire’s explanations, Morgan wrestles with his own demons towards his wife, indeed toward his whole family. The arranged marriage between himself and Claire had seemed a saving grace for him; no longer would he have to rely on his older brother for money since Claire brought with her a nice dowry. But through the years of getting to know Claire he had grown a deep and abiding affection towards her which her betrayal made all the more painful. Now his pride demands he not let Claire back into his life, but his heart has another agenda. The first in Lorraine Heath’s London’s Greatest Lover’s series, Passion’s of a Wicked Earl is a sure delight. The next book Pleasure’s of a Notorious Gentleman is bound to be a passionate study in the art of seduction as well.

I've been dreading this book ever since I received in the mail almost two years ago, read the blurb and read the first chapter. Needless to say, it went directly back on the shelf. ...so he banished the beautiful deceiver [his young (and innocent) bride] to the country and devoted himself to the pursuit of carnal pleasure Because when a woman just looks at a guy she's not married to she's a slut (she was a naive 17-year-old, she didn't know better) and needs to be banished to the countryside, while her husband, intent on the pursuit of carnal pleasure (and not with his wife) gets an Attaboy!, the dastardly bastard. But I finally decided to man up and actually go beyond that first chapter. I’m not sorry I did. I had a strange feeling in my stomach for the first few chapters, though. Because I wanted to kick the hero somewhere really painful, and I wanted to slap the heroine for being an immature, naïve chit three years ago.Yeah, they both deserved it. Because they were both idiots. He more than her, though. But once they started to get to know each other, once a tentative friendship blossomed between them, the strange feeling in my stomach disappeared and I sincerely rooted for them. The two characters worked perfectly together, creating intense tension. Mrs. Heath made them appear real, flawed, making mistakes, prone to misunderstandings, layered like onions (especially the hero), and I simply fell in love with them both just as they fell in love with each other. Was the premise unorthodox? Yes. But it worked for the story and for the character development. I truly believe what happened on their wedding night made them so very perfect for each other three years later. Their misgivings upon the reunion were the reason they actually got to know each other, which they never got to do before. That betrayal and the subsequent separation helped them mature, so when they met again, they had to go through what they didn’t before. The friendship, the courtship and the falling in love.Would they’ve done the same if nothing happened on their wedding night? Perhaps, but I sincerely doubt it. They probably would’ve turned into the ‘normal’ regency married couple – strangers that just happen to share a last name. So, the plot twist (that actually happened in the beginning) served its purpose superbly and I was glad not to see a repeat performance from the first chapter. This is a romance after all, the hero and heroine were meant to have a HEA.I’m glad to report, this was par with Heath’s previous novels I’ve read. Great characterization, wonderful tension, explosive chemistry, lots of misgivings and misunderstandings, nice pacing, an insane villain, and a perfect ending. I could’ve done without the extra ‘twist’ toward the end, but it needed to take place for the hero to finally realize he was indeed capable of loving.

This story takes you through all of the emotions. The romance between Earl of Westcliffe and Claire goes horribly wrong from the beginning. After years of simmering bitterness trying to restart their relationship is challenging but very sweet at times. The dangers that lurk in the shadows keeps the story exciting.

One would think that starting off with the Hero finding the Heroine, his bride in bed with another man ... His brother no less would result in me not enjoying this story so much and hating the characters, especially the Heroine. However, I decided to indulge and listen to it till the very end and by then, I found myself really liking this book! Both Westcliff and Claire were great characters! Claire is a compassionate, protective and very loving woman especially towards her sister and the people she loved. She will go to the world's end to protect the people she loves and I found that she was actually very patient with reaching her goal of becoming Westcliff's wife after 3 years of being exiled. She understands that her actions were wrong and that the consequences needed time to heal before she can achieve her goal. You can see that she does deeply regrets everything that she did to her husband. That shows growth and development Westcliff is a deeply hurt man. He is a good person with a sense of honor and loyalty (despite his affair while being married) but you can tell that he was driven to having other women as a result of how much pain the sight of the woman he admired from afar and loved in the arms of another man on their wedding night, his brother no less. He is kind and understanding, though he did have his jerky moments but after years of thinking himself as less than a man comparing to his brothers, it can affect a person. The gradual development and growth of their relationship was done so well and realistically! The Hero and Heroine actually sat down and talked, got to know each other and were compassionate to each other until you can see their love progress to its full bloom. They stood by each other through thin and thick and refuse to give up on each other The side characters were equally as interesting; Westcliff's mother was hilarious and a very interesting woman; Westcliff's brothers and Leo the painter. Claire's sister Beth drove me insane! She irritated the life out of me, I was surprised how anyone could put up with her5/5
