Rise Audiobook Summary

In the stunning conclusion to Anna Carey’s epic tale of romance and sacrifice, Eve must choose who to leave behind, who to save, and who to fight in her final stand against the New America.

When Eve lost her soul mate, Caleb, she felt like her world ended. Now, trapped in the palace, as a reluctant bride and unhappy princess, Eve’s entire life is a lie.

The only thing that keeps her going is Caleb’s memory–and the revolution he started. Eve plots to destroy the New America, beginning with the capital, the City of Sand. Will she be able to bring about a new, free world when she’s called upon to perform the ultimate act of rebellion–killing her father, the King?

Eve is determined to end what Caleb has begun and end the reign of his father with Moss helping her and thats the way this book started ...Many emotions in my chest right now ... This book has touched every part of my heart and has not disillusioned me at all.I'm excited, it's a beautiful ending that I did not expect. but left me wanting more , ie easily could get out a book more .... and I would love to ! LOL . I almost gave up with my thoughts toward Caleb andPUM! I'm just very very happy :)I let running a few tears, I could not really restrain myselfEve is excellent they may be one of the best characters I have read, determined and passionate with a huge growth atra instead of the saga. So many things that she went through. I'm so proud !!There were sad moments and felt I could not believe how many things happened so fast ... deaths, meetings and tears and laughter, I feel too much !: 3I'm so glad I decided to read this trilogy, is a true proof that sometimes do not get carried away by the reviews and just go for it, I have loved it! and will miss it so much :( So many incredible characters so different and lovable in the same parts and some not so lovable but just as amazing !!Anna Carey thanks for this wonderful world :)I recommend it a lot !!

Let me first start by saying that I am sad to see this series end. I have loved both books but when I got this one I was afraid because when a series ends it is always with a heavy heart that I read it. Sometimes it is a hit and sometimes it is not but I have to say that I enjoyed the ending but I really needed more. I still have some questions but that is okay because I plan on re-reading the books all in a row so I can see if I answer my own questions. In Rise we see that Eve has finally grown up and she is able to see things the way they are. She is hurting because she has lost Caleb and her father has married her off to Charlie her father's top adviser. Is he Caleb no but he does make her happy and they do seem like they can make it work. Caleb was her soul mate but her father had other plans and with all that her father has done to her marrying her was the last draw. Eve feels like her life is a lie and she is not sure if she can keep going on but then Moss and her decide she will fight the good fight and finish what Caleb has started. The only thing that Eve will have to face is the fact that she will have to kill her father? Will she be able to kill him? Who can she trust? Will she have to leave once she does kill her father? Where will she go? Will Charlie follow her? This is a great ending to the series and you will be surprised as to who dies and who stays alive and what happens in the end when Eve makes her moves.

This review can also be found at http://fortheloveofbooksreviews.blogs...In the third and final book of the Eve trilogy, Eve has married Charles, her father's advisor, in the wake of Caleb's death. Working with Moss, an undercover rebel against the King, she is asked to kill her own father for the sake of the city's future. But when things go wrong, she faces a life-threatening danger and must flee. Will she ever be able to defeat her father?I loved the first two books of the Eve trilogy, and this conclusion did not disappoint! I read this almost non-stop from beginning to end, and I did shed a few tears in the last pages. This book was filled with tension and suspense, I was always worried that Eve would be captured or killed for her betrayals to the King. I cared about all of the characters on Eve's side of the fight, and I hated all of the characters who sided with the King. I found that this was a nice change, with characters being generally completely good or completely evil, with a few exceptions. The author's writing style was easy to read, the words flowed well and the descriptions were amazing. I felt like I was fighting against the King alongside Eve, like I was in the City with her. I could picture the setting vividly, and the characters practically came to life in my mind. I can definitely say that Anna Carey is one of my favourite authors. The ending had an awesome twist, and while I admit I actually guessed, and was correct, about what would happen, that didn't change the fact that, to me, it was the perfect ending to this trilogy. While I'm sad to see this series end, I'm very satisfied with the conclusion.I recommend this series to YA readers and fans of dystopian stories! If you want an amazing trilogy set in the future with some romance, the Eve books are for you.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!! OK, REALLY??????? That ending literally made me scream. I really really really wish she would have given us more. I kind of had that "everything is going to turn out for the good" feeling, so when she learned Caleb was alive I was excited to see what the reunion was going to be like. Especially when she learned he was unable to use his legs and i REALLY wanted to see his reaction when he found out that Eve was pregnant. I also would have loved to know a little bit about after the baby was born, if it really ended up being a girl and how they lived inside the city. But all in all, it was a great series, and would totally recommend it to anyone.

I am very annoyed that this is the final book of a "trilogy". If this doesn't become a quartet I will not stick with my rating....because it ends horribly. The book was a fast read, and although some of it felt like a 'same place different day' scenario, the plot did progress and it did have just the right mix of suspense and feel good fiction. But ending it the way that she did was not only cruel but the perfect set-up for another novel. It opened doors instead of closed them. I don't need all ends tied up sweetly, but a cliff hanger this drastic defies the laws of story telling!

Have you ever read a series and then been so excited to read the last one , hoping all your questions and answers would be solved ? However, instead you are left with one of the biggest cliffhangers of all time and you just hope that the author will have a change of heart and write one more book ? That's what happened to me as I read Rise by Anna Carey. First things, a positive was the fact that I have enjoyed this series and it would have to be one of the better teen dystopians I have read and if you love books like The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood, then you will really enjoy this series. In Book #1 we met Eve , an orphan or so we thought who had escaped the school and went on the run into the Wilds. In Book #2 Eve and her friends are on the run, when near the end it is discovered that Eve's true identity is Genevieve - the Kings long-lost daughter and heir to the throne and lastly in Book #3 we read as Genevieve is living it up in the castle and is engaged to be married to Charles, but her heart lays with someone else - Caleb Young. However, things are dangerous at the moment as the outsiders are planning an attack on the castle, Can Eve escape and save her friends she made in the schools and out in the wilds ? Or will she fail and have to witness them executed ? Mourning for the lost of Caleb , we discover that Eve is pregnant with his baby - can she prepare herself for a life of solo-parenting and we say goodbye to a few main characters and readers not to give anything away - but prepare yourself for the final chapter and the ending of Rise as you will sit there screaming like I did and going NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I need more, you can't end it like that. I do hope that Anna Carey will write one more book or at least a novella to finish off the cliffhanger that is the finale of Rise.

Most of you are lucky. Once came out in July so that means you only had to wait about nine months to get Rise; to read how this whole trilogy ends. Especially with the way Once ended. I, on the other hand, had to wait thirteen, long, painful months. That is one of my two negative things to say…and obviously this has nothing to do with the book. Just me whining about how impatient I am; however; the wait is worth it, I think and I will tell you why. We’ve watched Eve grow from that naïve give she was in the first book to a stronger, more confident young lady in Once. (Yes, by using the phrase ‘young lady’ makes me sound super old…I get that.) If you thought her growing up ended there, you are absolutely wrong. If you look at the first few chapters of Eve and the last few chapters of Rise you will probably be scratching your head going how is this the same person? I can assure you that it is and it’s beautiful to see. The fact that Anna Carey can take a character and transform her but not change who she is, at her core, is incredible.Read full review at Step Into FictionReview completed by: Jessica

I thought Rise was the best out of the trilogy. A lot of things were quite predictable though.I guessed what was wrong with Eve in book two. (view spoiler)[ It was fairly obvious she'd get pregnant in one of the books. I mean, of course she's going to go through the one thing she was trying to get away from in the first place! (Even if it wasn't like the other girls situation) When she was sick in book two, i was certain she would be. (hide spoiler)]I could also see the thing with Caleb coming. (view spoiler)[ Even though i didn't really feel anything for Caleb, i'm glad he was alive. (hide spoiler)] Eve did grow up more in this book, and the difference between her in book one, and now, is huge.Eve in the first book was the main reason why i didn't really like it, so i'm glad she wised up a bit.Overall, Better than the others, but fairly predictable.

I absolutely loved this book. It was amazing and a wonderful end to the trilogy. The only complaint I have is that I would have loved more details or an epilogue about how Eve and Caleb finally see each other and what kind of injuries Caleb has. Also if their baby turns out ok and all that. So a little concluding epilogue would have satisfied me even more and that's why I docked a star but otherwise it was fantastic.

3.5It took me a while to get into the final book in this series compared to the first two that I couldn't put down. Despite this, I'm glad I sat down and finished it off because sob the ending!! I have read reviews that say the end felt rushed, but I am just a complete sap and enjoyed it anyway; there is an epilogue online that isn't included in the ebook versions, but I don't think it added anything for me.As with the other books in the series, it was a quick-paced and easy read. Overall an okay series, but I will not be rereading it!

I flew through this book, and while the ending didn’t necessarily disappoint me, I was sad there wasn’t MORE. A glimpse into the future perhaps...I get so invested in characters I always want to know what 5 or 10 years ahead looks like at the end!
