Euer Readandfit

Immediately read the sneak peek at The One, followed by the extra info, followed by the extended version of The Prince and The Guard. This was well-worth the $10, guys. I'm gobbling this up like candy.Review to come.

¿Maxon o Aspen? No puedo quedarme solo con uno. No puedo.

3.5 Stars for The Selection Stories: The Prince & The Guard (audiobook) by Kiera Cass read by Nick Podehl, Tristan Morris and Amy Rubinate. I enjoyed this extra insight into this series. It’s fun to jump back into this world even for a little bit.

So, my obsession with The Selection continues. It took me so long to find this book for sale in brazil, but FOUND IT! Okay, to start with, i have to say im a little sad. I honestly don't like Aspen, but he takes like 70% of the book hahah. Still, it was good to see everything from his perspective. The Prince:I love how since the beginning he kind of knew America was the one. I don't know, but just seeing how he felt towards King Clarkson, and the Selection, gave him a more "I'm not just a prince, im human" look. Because before, on the selection books (not the novelas) its kind of like Maxon is untouchable, like he can get through anything. But then, you see he didn't want the selection, he didn't have freedom, he was just a weak boy trying to chose a wife when he didn't know the first thing about girls. But yet he was like heaven. The Guard:I don't like Aspen, haven't liked him since he became a Guard. And on the guard, i have only disliked him more. I mean he tried to push America down "Do you think I could do it? If i became a princess?" and HE SAYS NO! Like i get it you're in love, and all, but you are a 6!!!! Maxon is a 1!!! I mean not only that, Aspen puts his interests first, and wants America to himself. America loved both Maxon AND Aspen, and he tried to degrade Maxon.

Uitgebreide recensie: http://thebookreview.nl/recensies/dys...

I'm so happy that I read these 2 novellas because I've missed the world of The Selection. It may not be the best but Kiera knows how to write amazing male characters. If I'm honest though The Prince was by far the better novellas and should have been longer. The Guard was okay, but I've never been the biggest Aspen fan. Had his novellas focused on him and Lucy then I probably would've given it a higher rating. The Prince - 4.5 StarsThe Guard - 3.5 Stars

Review for the Guard (since I already read the Prince several months ago).Let's just say, I am all team Maxon, and this book made me go for Maxon even more. Maxon!God, Aspen is urgh, blergh. He broke up with America, but for some reason still thinks she is HIS girl. No she isn't boy, no she isn't. You know you broke up with her at the beginning??? Did you forget all about that? And oh wow, her face looks that way, omg omg she loves me! Wait what? Sure you know her and all, but deducting from such a small thing that someone loves you? Um, no. I always disliked Aspen. I felt that he was just distracting her from the game/Maxon. I am sure if he wasn't around America would go for Maxon more, now she is wavering between two guys, and really needs to pick. I really hate that Aspen does that to her.I do liked the fact we saw more of the staff, maids and the underbelly of the castle and how things go there. Aspen and his conversations with America's maids was fun and made me happy that he had such good contacts with them. And we see more of his secret money sending thing to Woodstock in here. So yeah, Aspen has a few good sides, but again, he broke up with America but he keeps going to her. He should just leave her alone. And of course, the most important thing in this book (next to the Prince story of course). A preview to the final book in this series!!!!!And my, oh my, it was perfect, wonderful and I was just sad when I found out it was over. :( Gah, only 3 more months to go! I am not sure if I can wait that long though. Also loved the little information, family trees, Q&A with Kiera Cass in the back. :)

While I did find these stories to be a bit repetitive as we had already seen them from America's perspective in the first two books, I did enjoy them nonetheless. It was interesting to read about the beginnings of the Selection from Maxon's view in the first story. And then we switched to Aspen's point of view for a story from later on in the Selection which was just as interesting! All in all I did enjoy both stories and thought they were a nice little interlude before starting the third book in the series!
