Damn she a HO

I'm not going to tell a lie. I enjoyed this book, I felt for her as a child. Her story was real, that is what I respect about her. It seemed as if she was pouring her heart and soul out to be heard. I for one can not jugde her.. No! I do not agree with the lifestlye she lived. However, understanding her, and her past background forced her to do what she had to do to live. She did not know any better.. WHEN YOU KNOW BETTER YOU DO BETTER! (Not to menton she was a child during all of this) As she slept with these well known men, they are just a guity as she is. If your going to judge her, judge the many men who helped her live the life she lived. Yes! Of course, it was wrong of her to sleep with married men, once again that's what she grow up seeing. Her own mother running into the arms of different men. The bad behavior had to start somewhere. Every chapter was entertaining to me. There were so much details about her life, there is no way you can walk away from not understanding why every turn she took, lead her into bed with a different guy. She learned the game, and played it better than the rest. The most important lesson, is that she woke up and realized its time for a change. Its never too late to better yourself. I gave this book five stars. Simply, because, she gave me what I wanted to hear. The truth!

This rating system is difficult isn’t it?I don’t think this is great literature and some of the sentence structure is a bit incoherent but is it a very human story and really entertaining? Very much so.I think that she achieves what she set out to do in telling her cautionary tale. Moreover, I do think it took some courage to start calling out the music industry and naming names so long before the media was at all receptive to these stories. I would be interested to see what the 2015 sequel is like.

This was SUCH a good book. It came out years ago and I already had some background information about Karrine. I learned a lot about the music industry as it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. If you’re looking for a tell-all, this ain’t it cause she didn’t name drop as much as I thought she would. I had to google who Papa was. Nevertheless, such a GREAT book. I’d recommend this to anyone looking to be in the music industry as well as any young woman coming up.

It certainly wasn’t a life changing or even a particularly inspiring read (which is something I look for in a memoir), but I still really enjoyed it nonetheless. Probably mostly because I liked hearing about the sexcapades she had with so many big names in the entertainment industry.

In a so-called tell-all, Karrine Steffans allegedly addresses all the rumors that have circulated about her and her rise to (short-lived) fame. While I am sure there are juicier details left out, what stood out to me the most was Steffans writing of her upbringing and her life post fame. I feel for her and her sense of insecurity and hope she continues to find peace. Good read!

Only because of the juicy gossip, definitely not a literary genius!

This book was very straightforward and well-written. Karrine's story is very true-to-life and frightening, but not for the reasons that you might think...After I read the book, I realized that I've read about "Karrine" before. Her face and individual details of her life may vary from others, but her background is the same as many top porn stars. It's all there: the extreme neglect of her parents, violent beatings, rape, abuse and mental cruelty. All done to her before the age of 16. Jenna Jameson (#1 porn star) has a similar background and biography.

Although primitively written, it was very entertaining. There were several aspects of the narrative that struck me as odd/funny and I hadn’t seen them before in a tell-all. One is the way she casts EVERY sexual encounter as a dewy passing romance between herself and her fifteen minute paramour. A sex life like no other, sex with almost everyone “would go for hours on end, each hour more satisfying than the last.” It made me sore just reading it!!! LOL. but overall I enjoyed this book!

I don't agree with the idea of rating someone else's life. It just doesn't sit well with me but I need to give this memoir 5 stars on the basis that Karrine Steffans had the courage to talk about her story and put it out into the world despite being aware of the hate she would later on receive.

Really enjoyed this book. An interesting insight into the world of 2000s music videos and the culture that surrounded it.

y can't I read the book

** spoiler alert ** I mean… I get it. A lot happened to her and there was a ton of trauma. I believe a good portion could have been avoided if she cared enough about her well-being, however with the root of her trauma starting at home, I understand the constant feeling of being lost. I, too, have suffered from family trauma since I was younger, so I understand the feeling of useless and loneliness. I don’t think I’d organically gone out and found a need to sleep with everyone but I did feel the need to belong somewhere and be loved and just SEEN. I suspect that was ultimately her end goal.I saw she wrote a new book, so perhaps that give more clarity to her hopefully new happiness. It didn’t identify her getting the actual help she needed, but rather it identified her “all-of-a-sudden” foundation in God that always seems prevalent for people to gravitate towards in hard times. Unfortunately, the Black community demonizes mental health issues and getting help while also insisting you should just “pray on/about it”. Whatever message I was supposed to learn from her got lost in the short paragraph of basically suggesting that she was going to literally and figuratively screw everyone over.
