I was surprised by how small this book is when I checked it out of the library. But it's a real gem. It's going on my Amazon wishlist, because I'm sure I'll want to refer back to it again and again. It's quite inspirational. The ten prayers are very simple, but the insight in the chapters is amazing. I skipped over chapter 9 (Will I Ever Be Happy Again? God, Bring Good Out of This Bad Situation), because I don't think it's relevant to me right now.SPOILER WARNINGThe ten prayers are:1. God, show me that you exist (and this chapter made me want to pray this even though I'm a believer!)2. God, make me an instrument3. God, outdo me in generosity4. God, get me through this suffering5. God, forgive me6. God, give me peace7. God, give me courage8. God, give me wisdom9. God, bring the good out of this bad situation10. God, lead me to my destinyAnd at the end of the book, the author presents these prayers in a poem format. Read the entire book before reading the poem - it makes it better, more poignant.

I'm not really a very sentimental or emotional person, so I can't give an accurate review on how it would feel to read. If I was to guess, I would guess that most people would really love this. I think it has a lot of emotional appeal.But more importantly (to my prejudice mind) it also happens to be a great book for theology. In a world where so many prayers go unanswered, a book about 10 that will always be answered is very welcome, and very thought provoking. And because it's theology is solid (to the best of my knowledge) you learn a lot about the Nature of God and God's relationship to Man with it. I would highly recommend it to anyone.There may be one or two points which might make a few people scoff or irritate others, but definitely not enough to make this less than a great read.

It's amazing to note that in our lives we may offer up many prayers to God and the majority will go unanswered (due to our intentions and many other divine factors that we are not aware of). It's great to know that there are 10 prayers that God will always say Yes to because they are always in line with his will and these are it. This is a great read, not only does the author show you the 10 prayers but he gives a in depth analysis on why they work from both a theological and every day thinking perspective. I recommend this book to believers and non-believers alike, great read.

This is a powerful, concise book of ten prayers that if you pray them, they will ALWAYS come true. I read it for my Sunday School class, a chapter a week, and it was just very comforting. Not overly scriptural or preachy, and the author tries to appeal to people who are spiritual, not only Christians. A great introductory book to someone exploring their faith or wondering whether prayer is really effective (or even if God exists at all and can answer your prayers). Very readable.

This amazing book should be read and reread and given to friends.

Among the many treatises on prayer, the content of Anthony DeStefano's book distinguishes itself by being refreshingly accessible, eminently practical, and easily applied. Even as we struggle for the right words or perfect prayer formulas to use when we approach the Almighty, we know what we long for. We want to experience the power of God in our intense moments of need. Early in the book, the author makes the point that "communication is really the key to understanding the whole mystery of faith." Prayer is a conversation between people and their Creator. DeStefano establishes at the beginning that the issues of life, such as suffering, have no meaning if we don't believe God exists. If with an open mind and heart we ask God to show his existence, He will respond. Peruse the Table of Contents, and you'll see that each topic of prayer refers to a human need for something that is essential to our individual and collective well being--like courage, wisdom, peace, and servant-heartedness. DeStefano makes the case that these are all qualities God wants us to have. He will supply them to the praying heart according to His good purpose. I listed these sentence prayers in my commonplace book where I jot down things I want to remember. I'll refer to it often. Ten Prayers God Always Says Yes To is an affirming, inspirational read.

I started this as part of a devotional reading and put it down for a long, long time. This Lent I decided to make it part of my spiritual reading and it was and is a tremendous blessing. Now I want to read it again! The author’s insights on prayer have helped me draw closer to God. The title is somewhat “clickbait-like” but the book itself is a wonderful journey in learning to pray according to the will of God.

DeStefano's books should be read by every American Catholic. I was blessed to have read this within a book club and the conversation, Catholic conversation, that stemmed from this book was awesome and authentic. My prayer life shifted in a positive direction while reading this book. I admit though that I need to print out the 10 prayers and have them posted as a reminder to continue to pray these authentic prayers of love.

This book is an absolute must read for anyone on a spiritual journey. The first 8 chapters were good and quite interesting, but the last two chapters were so beautiful, eye opening and captivating that this has to be a 5 star book. The last two chapters alone make this my top 5 Christian spiritual books I have ever read.

Worth ReadingThe writer gives enough details, Scripture and stories that are worth spending time and reflecting. Originally, I thought it would be a quick read but it took a little more time than originally planned. It’s definitely worth reading.

Can't say I agree with everything he wrote, but DeStafano makes some good points.

This is an outstanding book that one can have close at hand to read time and time again. It deals with what makes some people successful and others not. A Message to Garcia is one of the greatest best-selling inspirational essays written in 1899 by Elbert Hubbard. It has been made into two motion pictures.There are some people who come hell or high water will get it done. Then they 19re others who have excuses of why it cannot be done. You have to have courage, tenacity and the will to win. The Marine Corps has always had that and that is why 1CA Message to Garcia 1D has been told to every Marine Corps class for over 100 years."A Message to Garcia" stresses the importance of those who can be trusted to get the job done when time is short and the stakes are high. It teaches that extraordinary opportunities come to those who develop the right attitudes, habits, and instincts to accomplish missions quickly and efficiently, with minimum oversight. Therefore it is a booklet that you should have close to you to read before going to sleep after saying your prayers. It is also a great bit of information to start the day when you have been struggling with a problem that has you in a quagmire of in action. In all problems the problem lies in getting started. Many people never do so they fail before they even get started. So when the question or order come to get "A Message to Garcia" you will not hesitate or cloud the issues with idiotic questions or excuses because you will be well on your way to deliver the message. The question now is can you do it? Yes, the future lies in your hands!
