In 2000, Perabo got a role in Coyote Ugly, a romantic musical comedy-drama that was her breakthrough. For this movie, she won the MTV Movie Award for Best Music Moment.

After this success, Perabo focused on independent movies. She starred in Lost and Delirious, and her performance was praised by many critics. Perabo also appeared in Slap Her… She’s French, Cheaper by the Dozen, The I Inside, Perfect Opposites, The Cave, Imagine Me & You, The Prestige, Beverly Hills Chihuahua to name a few.

The first time Perabo thought about doing television was when she read the script for Covert Affairs, the USA Network spy drama series. She was cast as the CIA field agent Annie Walker, co-starring with Christopher Gorham. Perabo received a nomination for the 2010 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama for her outstanding performance in Covert Affairs.

After this success, Perabo appeared in movies like Looper, Into the Grizzly Maze, Black Butterfly, Angel Has Fallen, and Spontaneous.

Besides her acting talent, Perabo is known for her political activism. She’s an advocate for LGBTQ rights and women’s political leadership.

Perabo is married to Stephen Kay, a director and writer.
