Truth be told: I can't stand Dave Asprey (he's an arrogant rambler) and I don't trust his recommendations. I discovered his website a decade ago, have read The BulletProof Diet (which is not based on science) and have researched some of the recommendations from his podcast (which were bunk). If you've heard him, you know he's a walking advertisement for his own supplements and how much he knows about everything. That said, I was actually surprised at how well this book was written and that I took away several small actions that may improve my life. I read this right after Dr. Mercola's Fat For Fuel (which I recommend), which gave me a little more understanding and confidence in the fat / brain / mitocondria connection. I haven't made big changes, and many of these things I knew about before, but it motivated me to do them. I changed a bunch of light bulbs, put my phone on airplane mode at night, put my WIFI on a timer, ordered the TrueDark Twilight glasses (actually ordered before buying the book), bought some Krill oil, bought some Brain Octane Oil (to see if it is any different from my MTC oil), and am going to address a mold problem in my home. I will also try the Brain Octane+honey+collagen night cap he recommends to those that wake up in the middle of the night. Even with weak evidence, none of these things can hurt. On any recommendations he makes that actually could hurt you (or before you put a bunch of money into his pockets), do your own research first!

This book has completely changed my life! I never realized how many different aspects of my life were affecting my brain performance and weight until I read this book. Every single chapter has blown me away by realizing that my whole life I have been wasting so much potential simply by the foods that I eat, the lights that I expose myself to, and the way that I sleep. I always considered myself a healthy person because I normally watch what I eat and exercise regularly. Little did I know that the reason I continued to always feel foggy and tired (no matter how much sleep I got), irritable, and why I always had such a hard time maintaining a waistline that I was happy with, was simply due to things that seem minuscule, but really make a huge difference in your brain's ability to function at its full potential. After just 3 days of making a few of the changes that he has suggested, I feel like a completely different person! I have already lost 2 pounds, I feel full of energy all day long, I consistently feel bright and happy like I have always dreamed of being, I have a higher sexual drive, and I am able to multi-task and focus on a level that I have never been able to attain in my entire life, and I also am finding myself with more time to complete tasks because I am constantly working with such high efficiency! Give this plan a chance, and I guarantee you will see positive results in multiple aspects of your life!

This book was chock full of valuable information, but often hard to get through. I find that I need to read Asprey's stuff in small amounts as it often leaves me with a sense of overwhelming futility. There is just SO MUCH in our food supply and environment that's toxic or bad for you or sapping your health in some way that making any forward progress feels like moving against the tide - especially if you're on a budget or working a job in an environment you don't control. None of that is Asprey's fault, ofc, and I deeply appreciate all the work he's funding and doing himself to provide us with this information since no one else is. It just means I end up reading his stuff slowly. This book in particular is super helpful if you've already cleaned up your diet and are looking for other ways to move the needle on your health. Even if you're not, the information inside will help you make better decisions and inform your opinions on modern infrastructure, business practices, etc. Highly recommend.

Dave cares. Not sure about the two weeks, but my experience with his suggestions has been mostly positive - more energy, less food cravings, better sleep, etc.This book focuses primarily on helping mitochondria become more efficient, which has an overall, systemic impact on our bodies, minds, and ultimately lives. The book read a little slow and deliberate in points, but overall, I would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their energy and health.

To some maybe a little extreme in the things he advises and sometimes a little repetitive, but overall very good and learnful. Loved the explanation from the mitochondria perspective which really made sense. Guess mostly a read for people who are really serious about their health.

Some people love to hate Dave Asprey....I hate to love the guy and his message, but I do. The man is a living testament to human ingenuity and elbow grease...not only does he ardently preach the message of eating a high fat low sugar diet, he lives it. Asprey was an overweight, overstressed, highly successful American male...his hard work gave him everything he wanted and everything he didn't. In his late 20s he began his quest for knowledge on not just losing weight, but finding the true cause for the weight gain as well as the variety of other co-morbidities associated with said weight gain including but not limited to brain fog, anxiety,depression, lethargy, sleeplessness, binge eating, canker sores, auto-immune disorders,etc.His quest resulted in the bullet proof strategy which is further tweaked here as The Head Strong Program. He believes very strongly through much study and self study that our brains and our guts are so linked that everything we eat, drinks or ingest creates a chain reaction or a ripple effect within our body that not only affects our body but ultimately our brain which then further affects the body again and on and on in a never ending vicious cycle.I have undertaken his program in the Bulletproof diet and saw tremendous results....unbeknownst to me there were internal factor that led me astray despite my belief in the system, the results I was achieving and the will power I had-when our bodies become "infected" with sugar, metals,toxins and mold, our bodies then crave the very things that put it in that state to begin with-much like a drug addict would "jones" for his drug of choice. I plan to use this Information which is not very dissimilar to The Adrenal Reset Diet and parts of Grain Brain and Wheat belly and see what kind of clarity, as well as weight loss I can achieve....I guess I will become a bio hacker!!

Very well researched and SO interesting! Struggling with a few health issues - I was curious how Dave Asprey hacks his health, physical, and mental energy! (Besides drinking bulletproof coffee ;)) I was so motivated to read AND FINISH this book! (I often get bored with a topic and end up not finishing books) not in this case! I gotta say, some of the research was so deep that I didn't even understand it but most was and it contributed greatly in what foods I will now eat and the awesome hacks that I will implement! I'm most excited about being out in the sun more, getting fresh air, getting grounded by walking barefoot, eating grass fed meats, and lots of veggies. Also, I will be cautious about frying my food! I was blown away by the research on fried foods! From now on - I will only "fry" my veggies, eggs, and meats on medium low temperatures! I heard a part of Dave's talk at the Bulletproof 2017 conference and he said - pretend that fried food is food that a cat peed on and DON'T eat it! Omg - yes sir! What a crazy yet helpful example! Ha ha! No fried foods for me! TOTALLY READ THIS BOOK IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH!P.S. As with every book - it's so important to read it with an open mind - take what you feel is helpful for you and leave out what isn't. There was quite a bit of recommendations that were either not helpful for me as a mother or too far out of reach - BUT - it's good to know!

This guy is crazy, and I love it! :)The book consists of fascinating research on biohacking.There are some quick and efficient tips at the end of each chapter. There are also more in-depth tips that I don't plan to do. That’s the beauty of this book. You can take as much as you like.You don’t need to be a genius to know that food, sleep and fresh air can affect your mental performance. The thing is, Dave is giving scientific explanations. Everything he is manifesting, he tried it himself. Let's put a reminder here that this does not mean it will have the same effect on you. But at least you can try.The book motivates you to do changes to your lifestyle.My mighty mitochondria like to drink bulletproof coffee! :DDefinitely to re-read! Wise men say that the repetition is our greatest teacher. :)
