Naughty Neighbor Audiobook Summary
Louisa Brannigan’s neighbor is a handsome hell-raiser–and he’s driving Louisa crazy. He makes terrible coffee, steals her newspaper, and listens through her walls. But when she’s fired from her government job, Louisa is persuaded to join his undercover investigation. Sneaking around in the shadows is more fun than she ever imagined, especially when the getaway car is a Porsche.
Pete Streeter never figured on finding such an attractive partner in crime. Louisa is all he ever wanted in a woman, and more. But once he’s taught her to enjoy living on the edge, will she finally feel safe in his love?

Louisa and Peter were a fun pair. Two opposites that definitely attracted. A really fun book to read.

I snagged this book off the exchange rack at the library simply because it was a Janet Evanovich book. I've looked at these "before the time of Plum" novels in bookstores, but didn't want to buy them because they look like "fluff" to me. So I was excited to find a chance to read a "guilty pleasure" book.I read Evanovich's note to the reader in this book & loved it. She explains that "in a previous life, before the time of Plum" she had written 12 short romance novels. It is fluff & I felt vaguely naughty for reading it. It doesn't fit into my annual theme & I should be reading the next book on the library's reading list, not indulging in "guilty pleasure." I skipped several passages, because I felt that I wasn't old enough to read them. I loved Grandma Brannigan, she reminds me of Stephanie Plum's Grandma Mazur. I enjoyed the political backdrop the book took place against also.

This was my first-ever Janet Evanovich book and I absolutely loved it! It was a short, quick read, packed tight with great one-liners that made me laugh out loud. Just ask my poor hubby, who had to stop what he was doing several times to listen to me read funny passages to him!The best thing about this book was the absolute MALENESS of the "hero." Evanovich wrote his dialogue and inner thoughts just like a real guy, which completely tickled me. My fave line:Her: "Do you make love to women you don't love?" Him: "Only in cases of emergency."Awesome. This isn't a 5-star book because of extraodinary depth of characters, story or world-building. That's not what this book delivers. It's a 5-star book because it's a total crack-up and I saw myself in a lot of the neurotic behavior of the characters. Spot on! *grin*

This was a light, enjoyable story of a neighbor who was a little naughty and a lot desirable. It was kind of reminiscent of Stephanie Plum, but not quite as comical. Louisa and Pete are believable and fun to read about. Loved it!

A very cute romance. Louisa and Pete prove that romance can bud from that person you think is exactly what your not looking for in a partner. That upstairs neighbor that's too noisy, steals your newspaper and appears to be a spoiled rich womanizer could just be the perfect guy after all. Pete offers her a job after she loses her job and Louisa finds herself sneaking around in the dark in an undercover investigation for a story that Pete is hoping to get involving a pig. Louisa finds she enjoys not following all the rules and stepping out on the ledge a little. Pete's attractive, rich and fun, he just might be the one. Pete does his best to prove to Louisa that they are destined to be married.

Cute book with decent plot, humor, action and sex but it was short and sometimes disjoint making it seem almost like a condensed version. Louisa’s loud neighbor, screen-writer Pete, causes her to lose her government aide job so she helps him with undercover investigation.

** spoiler alert ** Amusing rom-com book, with some corruption exposed along the way. Louisa Brennan keeps running into her annoying upstairs neighbor Pete Streeter. Her car is mashed up by a guy with a bat - because Pete had parked his car in her space. Pete is investigating an odd occurrence of a pig being lost while a member of congress (Maisler) was making a deal of sending the pig to the Netherlands. Louisa works for another congressman - Nolan - and gets fired when Pete shows up for her at an event. So Louisa and Pete figure out that Maisler was feeding the pig jewelry to smuggle the jewelry and gems into Amsterdam to be sold while in the US he tells his insurance company they were stolen. With the help of Pete's friend Kurt - they tap Maisler's phone and person - and find incriminating evidence of the insurance fraud.Throughout this drama, Pete and Louisa find themselves drawn to each other, finding out they love each other, and Pete asks Louisa to marry him. This freaks out Louisa - she thinks Pete is too much of a playboy. They end the book by Louisa letting Pete know that she is seriously considering marriage - which Pete takes as a yes.Evanovich writes amusing screwball comedies - light reading and enjoyable.

Louisa's upstairs neighbor is giving her fits. The worst thing is the day he steals her newspaper. She is up for a confrontation then only to see him and realize he's gorgeous. He likes her, too, but both try to deny their feelings because the other is the opposite of him/her. Pete, the upstairs neighbor, is a screenwriter and working on the mystery of a pig who went missing. He pulls Louisa into his investigation, only to become overprotective and realize he has come to love her. Can he keep her safe? Can he get her to marry him?I enjoyed this story. It is madcap and crazy and fun. I like Louisa and Pete. I laughed as they got into some predicaments. Louisa's dream of her wedding is a hoot. Her Grandma Brannigan is also. The story is crazy so suspend belief but it is perfect for a summer day on the patio or beach.

** spoiler alert ** Surprisingly, I really liked this short little book. The hate to love romance is one of my favs though. And getting into the main character Louisa’s self deprecating thoughts were understandable. The actual mystery was a bit far fetched (the pig) but what do you expect from a romcom? The main characters, a writer (who we find out later is a multimillionaire of screenplays…even winning an Oscar) and the lowly senators assistant neighbor is also a fun trope. I wish it could atleast occasionally be reversed. Hidden millionaire woman with lowly assistant man but society…

A red-hot screwball comedy eh? Well, it's fun & silly to be sure - to be honest, Louisa's suicide plans did make me laugh! - & I did like the characters, Pete, to me definitely had a touch of Morelli about him (no bad thing *sigh*)....just shame Kurt was no Ranger!I enjoyed it at the time but I don't think it will remain memorable. Neither do I think it's going to win over anyone who doesn't like Evanovich already. A fun diversion but I'm sticking with Steph & co.

These are books written by JE in her earlier days of writing and they are the best books, I've laughed at a good many of them, also it only takes a day or so to read them. They are funny, every one of them has me laughing right out loud.

A delightful romp of a book, funny with some suspense weaved through. I wasn't crazy about Pete to begin with, but he really grew as a character. Louisa was a steady character who learned to live a little. I really enjoyed the Washington D.C. setting. I'll be looking for more of Janet's books.
